Will the CANS Lifetime be able to demonstrate evidence that it is standardized for adults, particularly those with SMI? I am unable to find any research or information to indicate how the assessment tool has been an effective resource for SMI. In addition, if it is an assessment that uses scoring to determine functioning level, are safety/life threatening categories weighted more than non urgent areas? I.e. does homelessness/housing stability weigh more than recreation, or self injurious/suicidal behavior indicate greater functional impairment than accessing the community?
