Teachers are already given so much busy work beyond the normal scope of their work.  This would give them more needless work.  Parents can of their own choice read any of the books, novels , or stories in the textbooks or novels.  Put some of the ownership of raising the children back on the parents.  If parents are concerned about what the students are reading, they should read the items themselves in order to make up their own educated opinion of the works.
