Both the Erosion and Sediment Control Law and the Stormwater Management Act have statutory provisions (excerpted below) that exempt the harvesting of forest crops if "the area on which harvesting occurs is reforested artificially or naturally in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 11 (§ 10.1-1100 et seq.) of Title 10.1

Logging companies should be regulated by Erosion Sediment Control Laws.
